Kimahri and Lancet

Hi all.

Question: if Kimahri fails to learn something from a new type of enemy by using Lancet on it, is there a point in trying again?

Like can Lancet "fail" to get the skill from the enemy?

Or is it a 100% sure shot meaning the enemy simply does not have a skill for you to learn when you don't get one?

If the enemy has a skill you can learn, lancet will give you that skill 100% of the time. It's always guaranteed. There's a total of 12 skills to find, and those 12 are the only ones you can learn.

There is one fight (Biran and Yenke) which works a bit special in that you can only learn the skill once the enemy has used it during that fight; all other fights don't require that at all, and you can just learn the skill simply through using lancet.

And there is just 1 skill very late in the game that you can miss, against an optional boss in an optional secret area. You will know you are in the right area when your party gets wiped out a ffew times by a single normal mob and you want to throw your controller away :P (well - first-time experience there without guides)
