(FFX) 99 potions at start... Was this intentional?

Hey, I was wondering about that:

As you can see, I simply got from the ancient underwater ruins back to the ship and always got another x3 potions.

Was that intended or is that some kind of glitch?

probably an oversight /exploit
but its not like potions are super valueable and rare

True that, it's still some neat boost for the start. :P

Especially as I was wasting so much time on the occasional prianha fights, that Rikku got a full override at the kraken and finished it off with grenade mixing. ^^

Well - you ahrdly ever need potions - you'd be a lot faster by only getting a few grenades and going fgor the enxt area - where you get more Xp.

meanwhile i farmed 99 grenades as a set up for a future rikku only run i start off a savepoint right after obtaining her :P

This playthrough is my first one with this setup.

Japanese audio, UnX with a lot of texture mods and a retarded ReShade preset.
I am not that happy with, as the game often lags and crashes, but at least it looks unique. XD

Guess UnX is a bit buggy when used with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of textures, but as I said:
I prefer to have the game looking a bit more different than my previous experience.

no need to speed-run, but grinding the early areas is just useless - you can fight there for hours, but you'd get the same Exp in a few minutes later one - if not seconds.
farming a bti to get a few potions/grenades/whatever for the next fight - sure. farming 99 of them? You likely don't even use 99 Potions in the whole game

i agree , the reason i farmed grenades there is really only because i really might start a rikku only file from that file and starting out with enough grenades means if enemies are too strong i can blast through them with grenades

If you think that what you see in the video is worth to be labeled as "grinding", then I think you don't know what grinding means. ^^

In video gaming, grinding is performing repetitive tasks for gameplay advantage. Many video games use different tactics to implement, or reduce the amount of grinding in play. The general use of grinding is for "experience points", or to improve the characters level.

I did go back for the potions, which is not grinding either as you simply have to speak to that one Al Bhed over and over, but don't get any EXP for doing so. That's rather "exploiting".

But coming back to my statement about "no speed run":

I am not interested in being fast, nor getting more Xp right now.

I am unsure about what you try to tell here, as this topic has nothing to do with grinding or how useless it is in the early areas.
Actually, I clearly asked if this behavior is intended to get x3 potions over and over.
