Kilika and Dona

Maybe I don't understand how the game works or there is something I overlooked...

After all the starting stuff I was finally on the ship and could could choose where to go.
There was a hotspot and some other sites with rating "easy" I wanted to try to get used to the fighting in X2.

So I went to Kilika. I found Dona, saw her guy run away, got the monkey quest, checked the vessel, I emptied all chests, talked to everyone, but Dona keeps saying the same:
It's not your concern, you never give up, there is the door...

The guards won't let me through the gate and so I'm stuck here.

What must I do respectively how do I figure out, where to go next? I realize, that "hotspots" progress the story, but does that mean that all other spots are not fully accessible?

Kilika will progress later in the chapter, since it's the last thing you do in that chapter, story-wise. You'll be sent back there, don't worry. If you're aiming for 100%, finish off the other areas first, and the story progression will naturally bring you back to Kilika at the end of the chapter.
