Auron's Overdrive (and maybe others) doesn't respond to inputs.
I just got this game and I noticed first thing, during the intro battles, when Auron got his overdrive and I attempted to use it, the game was not responding to my inputs on the controller, even though everything else seems to work just fine. I'm kinda worried that half of my party's overdrives won't even work now. Any way to fix this?

are you sure you entered the correct combination?
there is a problem that the game swaps the icons for X/O withj soem controllers.

And each characters overdriv e is different. Auron is the only one where you need to enter a button combination, Lulu is rotating the stick, Tidus and Wakka is timing the buttonpress. And the others have no timing involved at all.

The first input requested on Auron's OD in the first battle was Left. I pressed Left. Several Times. And nothing happened, despite the fact that Left worked in the menu later when they wanted me to do the Trigger Command with that underwater boss fight. And I forgot to mention, Tidus's OD worked fine.

the first button definitely is not left - it is DOWN then left.
maybe you got a graphical glitch not showing the first button?

Is it the same every time? It's been too long since I played FFX.... I'll wait until I get Auron again and play around with it. Pretty sure I saw left though but okay. I'll wait.

The input combos for Auron's overdrive are the same for each respective overdrive. They never change.

Ahh. I couldn't remember. Some strange reason it looked like the first input was left. You're saying it was actually down-left diagonal? I suppose it was early morning; I could have just read it wrong. I'll look closer next time.

no, sorry for not being clear enough, it starts with "Down" only, then "left" only, and so on. There are no instances in this game where you need to press multiple buttons at once as far as i am aware of.

I haven't had issues with any of the other overdrives, but Lulu's is pretty much broken, based on my experience.

It involves rotating the analog stick to charge the gauge, but it doesn't seem to register the rotation most of the time-- it doesn't matter what speed you go at, the guage doesn't fill. I don't know if it is because of my controller (wired Xbox 360) or some issue with the Steam port.

Just something to be aware of.

HandmadeMonster: that is cause her overdrive is described poorly.

Stronger spells need you to rotate the stick more often for each cast, and higher Magic reduces the number of rotations needed - and it is fairly week.
Ultima for example you can never get more than 4 casts - and the damage is only 40% of its normal damge, so a hades-magic can deal more damage when you dont hit 99999.
A simple "Fire" with starting-magic you might get 8 hits, with maxed magic up to 16.
