HELP AGAINST JECHT/BRASKA'S EON
Hello guys,

I would like to know well certain things about this final fight.

I really have some difficulties in beating down the second form of Jecht (when he uses the sword)... But let me tell you how I generally handle the battle, first:

First fase: I let Tidus (4000 hp, or a bit more) cast Hastaga, then Sancta by Yuna (3200 hp, moreless) and Lulu (3200hp). I don't have many problem with Stone status, because most of my party has Stone status defenses. If Jecht is about to hit someone I use that Auron's (5600 hp) ability (don't know the exact name in English, I'm Italian) that allows to take the damage, still in defense mode, instead of the main target chosen by the boss. I usually take Jecht down with Bahamut's Megaflare.

Second fase: here comes the pain. I try to adopt the same strategy as before, but of course Jecht does increased damage, espacially by using that sowrd swing that hits everybody. I manage to resisit until the boss its 50000 hp, by using all Eons overdrive, but eventually I lose.

Now, my question (besides your different suggestions):

1) I know I could inflict Jecth Zombie status... Does it work if I do it with Anima? I think that eon can cast Zombie... Anyway, I would like to know that if I enter Jecht the Zombie status in the first form, will he mantain it in the second one?

2) I try to beat down the second form by using Yojimbo's Zanmato, but, unlikely against other enemies, he won't perform Zanmato attack (I have around 17500 guil). Is it random or special bosses like this one requests more guil?

3) Should I get Magus Sisters to help me? Won't they be a new obstacole when you have to face all eons before Yu Yevon's fight (yes, I know what's next).

4) Should I get any celestial weapons? How do I get them? Any easy one? My main character, especially in this combat, are for magic Lulu and Yuna and for phisical damage Auron, Wakka (5500 hp, moreless) and sometimes Tidus. Auron and Wakka at 80/90% can perform a 9999 over basic-strong enemies, Tidus at 50% or even less, actually.

PS. My main problem, actually, is not damage, actually, but hp in the second phase: Jecht hits hard!

Thanks for reading, waiting some suggestion. I don't know if it is important to mention, but I'm playing on PS3 HD remsatered version.

zanmatou works against most enemies , i dont think theres one who can resist it

it doesnt matter how many aeons you have for the final boss , in that fight you cant die

i would recommend getting some celestial weapons ( rikku's god hand is easy to get , same with yunas Nirvana ( which is inside the chest in front of the monster farm))

did all of your characters only finish their own spheregrid section ? if yes , try letting yuna go through lulus section to get better mage stats and black magic

and lastly , i dont exactly know what jecht does , but try getting more defense , his hits wont hit as hard if your defense is higher , if you need to farm spheres , Tanket drops Defense +4 spheres

also braskas final aeon doesnt have an immunity against zombie according to the wiki

you could also just use trio of 9999 and then use slice n dice and attack reels in phase two , should be enough to kill him

What? jecht? That weak puppy?

The usual methods work just fine:

haste/protect/5xCheer and you shoudl be able to deal 9999 with each attack on a normal playthrough.
Normally each of your aeons deals 10k damage (bahamut more) - so that should be enough to whipe him in his 2nd phase when he goes half HP and dangerouse.

If that isn't enough you can use Rikkus overdrive (trio somethingsomething) - whatever doesn't kill you onehit can't kill you at all like that.
And if you are too weak with even that - grab your self an anima and get the celestial weapons + seal (no need for the full upgrade) to unlock damage-limit for the aeons.

if you have the magus sisters you can summon them , sandy deals 99999 damage and overkills jecht in one hit if youre lucky.

well , god hand has triple overdrive so you can spam mixes ( and also break damage limit )
i would also get quick hit for rikku (and if you play without Cheats , get some Items for mixes)
and nirvana has MP 1 , so if you teach yuna stuff like ultima / Flare and doublecast you can spam them

i would try to always have haste on the party , makes things easier , the boss is immune to Slow , but you can atleast speed up your party

Thanks for the tips, I just beat the game this afternoon! :) Yes, Haste it's a must in this fight, and slowing down the boss sure helps. I did a lot of damage also thanks to Wakka and his weapon with Zombie+.
