Unable to get energy blast?
I know I'm supposed to talk to the lady in the item shop but I can't ger her to mention her dog. I've tried buying an item and a weapon before leaving but she just talks like a normal shopkeep. How do I fix this? I refuse to leave cuz I'm only backtracking once.

You need to almost leave the island. When you reach the beach and are about to leave for Kilika, go back to the town. That should do it.

I've backtracked from the Macalania forest so this my second time in Besaid after leaving it in the early game. I'll try what you suggested anyways to see it changes the dialogue.

For some reason she sells items AND weapons, but all the videos I've seen she only sells items. So I'm not sure why my npc has an extra thing or why she won't mention her dog.

You may be confusing X and X-2?

I can't remember exactly, but wasn't the dog woman someone else, and not the shop owner?

Well, I'm back on my main pc after using my laptop for the last couple days, and for whateverr reason I was able to get energy blast from the dog. Curiously, the shop lady still didn't mention her dog, I talked to another NPC who was standing beside the dog in the item shop tent and she gave me it.

Why did this not work on my laptop? Why did I get it in a way that didn't follow any guide I found online? I've got no idea, but at least I have it now. Computers are weird.

Huma memory is weird. On your laptop you got it the exact same ways and it is just you remembering it wrongly.
