what is the point of creature creator? also 100% question
do I need to actually watch every cutscene or can I skip them if I want 100%?
I guess it doesn't realy matter, I can just youtube the cutscene it's just I've seen the beginning cutscenes so many times

Nope you can't skip any cutscene or dialogue if you want the 100% cause it affect the total %... but you'll not be able to do it without a guide (if it's your first run) i guess

okay well how easy is it on NG+?

since you keep the Dresspheres / grids / accessories it's pretty easy. And you keep your total % for the achievement too (if you missed some cutscene / dialogue)

so on the NG+ how do you gain more % tho?
like redoing scenes I assume doesn't add % so do I have to go like new yevon instead of youth league or whatever?
Kerobe Jun 29, 2019 @ 12:47pm
you'll gain more % if you watch a new cutscene (if you miss one in the first run or missing a dialogue choice). that's why a guide is pretty good to check the % at the end of a chapter

man that's so lame
alrighty

Yes.

There's more than a total of 100% available across two games, chiefly because of this. YL is the only way to get 100% in ONE game, though, as it has slightly more %.

Also, there is currently a bug with the CC where certain fiend tale endings DO give %, because they use recycled lines of dialogue from the main game and % is tied to those lines so it's added twice (I believe it's Elma's and Lucille's endings, for 0.3% each).

The CC is there for some extra combat content, as it has some of the most satisfying fights as well as the best item rewards. And of course there's the whole recruiting thing that allows you to have interesting parties, as well as recruit story characters otherwise unavailable (though some are limited to NG+).

If you want to go for CC completion, consider a new save file, as you need to level most fiends 4 times to unlock all story lines for them. And their starting level is tied to YRP level's.

Once you gain access to Gullwing some people start switching out their party with an Chocobo and an medium sized fiend, so YRP doesn't get any level anymore.

I never really cared for the CC or the Fiend Arena. Only finished the first one once to get the dressphere

Sadly I just failed to get the 100% ending. I did everything a guide told me to do and even got the Rikku scene on deck (95% required, in other words doing everything else) but despite watching it I didn't get 96% like the guide said. So I only got 99% in the end

The creature creator is not required in any way to complete FFX - 2, unless you want achievements. It's very useful to learn blue magic, or to complete Shinra's bestiary.

For the bestiary achievement, incase someone makes the same mistake I had made, there are actually two bestiary's in the game. One inside the creature creator, which displays fiend tales you've viewed. The other - the one that actually matters - is in Shinra's initial menu when you talk to him, where you can see creatures stats / whether or not they've oversouled.

Note: Not all creatures that oversoul in the battle simulator will count toward the bestiary. Look at a guide, but generally speaking the extreme majority of creatures can be found within the Via Infinito dungeon.

If you want to get 100% the creature creator it will require NG+. Some creatures cannot be caught until a second play through.

I literally did the exact same thing, and realized I had missed returning to the Cactuar Nation for a final cut scene. I was so relieved when I hit that 96%.

If you give up, I have my save file at 96% if you want it.

You can use the FFX-2 savegame checker[rngeoff.com] to see what you missed. It will tell you the line/action that is still open. I've found it the perfect complement to text guides, all of which seem to miss a detail here or there at some point (or make it hard to identify as an important detail).

thanks.
Seems I missed someone called Donga in chapter 1
" Donga: The end has come faster than I thought. Macalania Woods "

I got 99,8% and because of one stupid NPC I won't get the perfect ending

Donga is the big drums guy of the music people from Macalania. Looks like you didn't talk to him in Chapter 1.

The guide probably mentioned it in passing, but was vague about it due to bad writing so you didn't notice it was an important point.
