Cross and circle and reversed on PC ??
Hello,
I just took the game on PC and I notice that cross is to leave, from the menu, for example, and circle is to validate ? Like talking to someone. I just checked, it's the opposite on PS3.
Is this normal ? Can I change it ? :s
Any help is appreciated !

There is the same thing on FF 7 and 9.
But you can go in the options to change the controls.
Just beware it's possible thet the changes will be available in the game only (not in the main menu).

Ok, I tried to go where Tidus has access to the menu but it's wasn't available yet. So I freaked out :). I'll try a little later then thank you very much :)

When you are in game, press ESCAPE and you'll have acces to different games options, including keyboard/controller configuration :)

That's it :). You're my savior. I'm with the mod for the japanese voices and all, I didn't think to just try "escape".
Thanks !

The cross/circle "reversal" is due to the way the original Japanese PS controller was designed. As is logically obvious, circle means "confirm" and cross means "cancel" - however for some inscrutable reason the two are almost universally swapped in the West. Why, I cannot say. Maybe something about hand sizes, so the bottom button is better accessible? I have no idea. You could probably look up an explanation somewhere.

But isn't that literally the case for any position, because no matter where you are on the buttons, it's always the same distances to the other 3, just rotated? In fact, you could argue that if anything the position of the thumb is different, and with the bottom button it's more likely to be flexed while the right-most has it in a default extended position. Which one is ergonomically more comfortable in the long run is debatable.
