Ok, first spare me the lectures, 4th time through the game and I really can't be bothered to dodge another 200 lightning bolts
Is there a cheat/hack that would give me the Sigil? the rest of the game I can happily replay but these dodges kill it for me

Search the forum, there are already a few cheats posted. Many of them use scripts for the program Autohotkey.
A pretty good script can also be found on https://www.reddit.com/r/FinalFantasy/comments/4jbhkk/final_fantasy_x_pc_dodging_lightning_in_thunder/ .
Depending on your machine you might need to edit a certain line to change the resolution and the colour the script is searching for. E.g.
'PixelSearch, FoundX, FoundY, 1340, 740, 1366, 768, 0xadaed6, 20, Fast RGB'
like one of the comments suggest.

Edit:
And remember to equip no encouter and go to the suggested location to make Tidus stay in one place and not jump all over the map.

Could this also work for bypassing that dumb chocobo race you have to do to get the item for Tidus' ultimate weapon?

Not sure I can withstand the torture mucb longer.

Any of the savegame editors can easily provide you with the item, yes.
