how do others get other characters ?

no matter what i try ( like always talk with wakka or auron first , heal them alot or other stuff , i legit always have rikku in the macalania ride

im really wondering what others are doing diferently

I'm sure there's a "date" FAQ somewhere, but afaik it's only two options anyway - Rikku or Lulu. I get both at about 50/50, even though I tend to do everything the same each time. No idea.

Well, I guess it could be. The FFVII Barret date was rather difficult to do, too.

Google for one of the old FAQs, I'm sure someone somewhere has it figured out.

Basically, they have to come to like Tidus/MC more than the other options do.

Simple way to do this: Get into a fight with a fairly weak enemy, and have Tidus toss a Potion at that specific ally whenever they take damage, or are missing HP. After something like 30 potions, win the fight, save the game, and try the relevant scene again. If that doesn't do it, go heal their damage another 20 to 30 times. Repeat as needed.

Rikku, Yuna, and Lulu all get fairly notable affection boosts from story scenes, such as the talk right before leaving Guadosalam(sp?), and if you stop at the Travel Agency on the Thunder Plains. This makes them have an easy time being the focus for affection related scenes, such as the hover bike ride.

So if you want one of the guys instead, you need to farm a lot of affection through using healing items on the guy.

oh , i once tried healing them at full health , guess next time i first get yuna out and let her punch the Character i want to heal with her weapon

The charakter who joins you is based on your highest affection towards the one who can join you there (being Rikku, Lulu, Kimahri or Auron).

Certain things contribute towards the affection level for a specific charakter, like:

- healing/reviving them with Tidus

- speaking to them first(!) in an area where the party stands around

- certain dialogue options (such as in Guadosalam where you can tell Rikku or Lulu that you like them more than Yuna)

OMG! I didn't know that there are other options! I've got Lulu so I thought that she's the only one... Maybe in the next redo I'll try to get somebody else...

getting rikku is easy : just always talk with wakka first instead of Lulu in most places , and then grind with rikku a little in the moonflow and raise the affectiom by healing her as tidus , i always get rikku in both the guadosalam and macalania cutscene
