Controller doesn't matter much since its a turn based rpg.
You should also consider that on Vita ONLY FFX comes on the cardridge and you need additional 4 GB for FFX-2 on your memorycard since its being downloaded from PSN.
But its up to you.
If you have around 350$ you can also play the PC version on the go with the GPD Win and the graphics are better than on Vita.
PC if you want to stay completely indoors.
Also there are 2 Version for the VITA.
There is 2 VITA chips for 2 games. This one is rare since they only stock the bundle chips now. http://i.imgur.com/FswH3sR.jpg
And there is the 2 for 1 Chip where both games are in a Single Chip. This one is more Common now.
Oh and the 2 Chips I own has BOTH Japanese and English Audio.
