k thanks , so far got 140,
If you stand in roughly the middle of the area between the crators you'll get two lighting strikes very close together and then a break of like 5 seconds before the next one where you can reposition yourself back into the same spot again.
Doing this you get a very consistent lighting bolt pattern that can be learned pretty easily. From there its just a bit of persistance and you'll get it.
I got it on the 4th try.
There is a video post in the guide section that shows a great spot where you can repeatedly run back and forth from a tower toward a crater and predict the timing really well, with minimal practice. It's very predicatble. This also lets you have a place to rest if the eyes need a break.
I don't use the triangle pattern. I just walk back and forth: tower, crater, tower, crater, ect.
EDIT: No Encounter Armor/Weapon/Cheat make it infinitely easier.
you do know FFX HD comes with a No Encounter Cheat, incase if you dont want to battle but yeah I have no encounter on a basic blank Tidus weapon.
yeah I finally did it last night, I kept the game music going as it actually helped, was able to get 356 bolts in a row, didnt count which also helped, did the crater method, took me literally 3 tries ,
140 - 148 - 356
