I dont mind his narrator voice. Its just his excessive enthusiasm when in dialogue makes him sound like a cryptorchid...

Yeah, I agree. The narrator voice isn't bad. It is like simple story telling. I typed this discussion starter up right after he munched away on the food that he was given on the ship in the beginning of the game. It ground my gears for sure!

To each their own. Tidus is not annoying to me. Wakka is a thousand times more annoying due to reasons that have to do his racist/prejudicial attitude and beliefs that I won't get into or else you might get spoiled if you haven't played the game before.

@ himiko, pretty sure we are talking about voices, not the written dialogue they speak

just me, or does it almost seem like tidus has multiple actors

actor mustve had trouble keeping the same voice going
which means they wernt to good at the time
or were trying to do a voice too far out of thier spectrum
which eludes to inexperiance, or incompetence

gota say though, i hate the whole personality for tidus, its not as whiney pisant
as the mc in deadman wonderland, or brain dead clueless as some others
but hes up there

Only thing is that there's no time travel in FFX. The Zanarkand that Tidus is from is known as Dream Zanarkand and it does exist at the same time with Spira. The only way to get to and from Dream Zanarkand is if you're unsent (which explains how Auron was in Zanarkand with Tidus) or if you're part of the Aeon's Dream (Tidus).

I've already beaten the game on Ps2. My steam playthrough is not my first.

Well in the original post, there was nothing specified about "just" his voice being annoying, so I made a comment about Tidus in general. His voice isn't annoying to me either. It fits him well as a character, and I couldn't imagine him sounding any different.
