I’ve tried it and here’s the few things I’ve noted:
For what it’s worth, if you can get 7.1 for cheap and it is actually the multi driver thing, I found them enjoyable in single player open worlds and the experience is different to say the least.
If you plan on listening listening to music with them, get better STEREO headphones from reputable manufacterers like Sennheiser or Audio Technica.
I use stereos for Siege as well. As far it goes, most games nowadays have good binaural audio where stereo is generally recommended anyways.
If you’re looking into buying headphones, leave a budget so most of us know what you’re aiming for.
If you have windows 10 you can use Windows Sonic, which is also good, not as good as Dolby Atmos tho, but gets the job done. Atmos is like whole other experiance, like going 144hz.
I use Asus Strix 7.1 and they are damn good both for gaming and hearing music (I have an option to use 7.1 surround or stereo but I don't tend to turn off the 7.1 not even for music)
they come with built in 7.1 which is amazing
they also come with a sound card built into the wire which can activate Dolby surround
I rarely use it as it lowers the sound quality but does make it eeasier to hear stuff
Game supports up to 7.1 channels:

The full use of 7.1 channel you will make ONLY with actual 7.1 SPEAKER SETUP and dedicated sound card. Onboard soundcards nowadays are decent but still not as good as dedicated ones. Personally i'm using 5.1 speaker setup connected to creative x-fi titanium (old card, not available anymore but still rock solid) and i would never think of replacing such configuration with some "gaming" headset as that would be abomination. This setup gives me really amazing feel of where enemies are and where certain things are going on. I often get in text chat "how did you know?" messages and most of the time it is because sound helped me a lot and in this game sound is as important as collecting and giving info to teammates.
P.S.
I laugh hard when i imagine headset with subwoofer attached to it :D
