Hipfire accuracy is in affect throughout the majority of ADSing animation. Hence laser sights are a net gain for performance. To prevent laser sights from giving away your position simply aim at door and window frames (which you should do anyway) and they will never see you coming.

But the thing is you are not 100% sure where the enemy with laser is, you just know he is near (you may always pre fire tho).
1.9 K/D for me so far, so I can't be doing too terribly.
But that's just for me, and different things work for different people. On average what works for many people is using a laser only for those operators they play aggressively with. Classics are Ash and Ela. With operators you are holding angles with, e.g. Rook or Sledge, you don't use a laser.
On shotguns and pistols for shield operators everyone should always use lasers.
