Ever heard of "You get what you paid for" and that some things cannot be refunded? It's like as if one were to purchase a game on Steam, but they don't like the game and surpassed the 2-hour deadline to refund the game. Having something of value goes down to one's actions.
And now we go back to subjectivity...
Outbreak packs have a specific target audience. You arn't one of them. Obviously. However there inclusion in no way effects you. The cosmetics would not exist if not for the outbreak packs so they arn't taking cosmetics away from you. It is entirely extra. Which has been pointed out many times. If you don't any value in them DON'T BUY THEM. Notice I still say that depsite you going "you can't say don't buy it" Thats because that is how economics actually works. These lootboxes arn't for you. Not everything made is. So if you don't want them don't buy them. It really is that simple. And you attempting to make it less simple is laughable.
This is getting stale.
Your urge to complain about something that at the end of the day comes down to your decision, is stale.
Market Skin Value? There is no siege skin market. The value of skins is up to the eye of the beholder. People buy things based on whether they find value in owning it. Limited sales can boost percieved value of an item in some peoples eyes (cough collectors cough). If items didn't have worth (even if they couldn't be resold) they wouldn't be sold in the first place because no one would buy them.
I mean, this event wouldn't exist if people wouldn't buy Y3 pass or previous passes. But we won't go there.
The cosmetics would not exist if not for the outbreak packs - The event wouldn't exist if people wouldn't purchase Y3 pass, Y2 pass etc, but we won't go there.
We buy the game, the game has a community, we as the consumer have the right to argue with the moves the company is making.
You can't say that every move a company has is justified or is "good" for the consumer.
If ubi didn't care, if the people didn't care there wouldn't be a community.
Target audience is the COMMUNITY therefore we as the COMMUNITY discuss it and if we don't like it, we say it like it is.
it doesnt affect me? it does and i stated how i view this. you may call it a "slippery slope" but i've already discussed it.
I won't grind the same stone again. meh.
The target audience isn't the community. Its a subsection of the community. What you've failed to show though is how these outbreak packs are bad for the community though. And yes lets bring up the fact that they only dicerning argument you've made about it is that this "could" replace all other skins in the future and be the only system in place in the future. You know with out any evidence to support that. Even these outbreak packs were informed to the community long before they were even implenmented. (see alpha packs) So your "slipper sloap" argument will hold merit when they actually inform us about there decision to make such a change (which is when we should have that kind of discussion)
