I think he meant that there isn't an audio product that is made for the audio, it's instead made to appeal to gamers. Hence headphones and headset.

Headphones = for audio
Headset = audio + some unless ♥♥♥♥ like rgb or an audio mixer.

A headphone does not.

I dont know much but i think the headset or whatever it is called, it can sound better to detect gunshot sound and footstep around. That is why I am looking for it but there is too many brands and models D:

That's a marketing thing, I used to use apple earbuds and have switched over to a sennheiser hd 4.50 btnc. The upgrade has made something easier to do like bandit tricking while relying on sound, but other than that it won't make you way better.

I recently bought the beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro (250 Ohm). For listening to music, the headphone sounds fantastic. But for gaming the sound was so different than on my previous headphone. I would describe the new sound (with the beyerdynamic) less crisp and more muffled. My old headphone was an Astro A40 (along with their mixamp). I searched the web, but could not find an answer why the sound is so different.
Can I fix this, or is this just the way the beyerdynamic 'produces' the in-game sound?

Studio headphones are the best although some monitoring headphone sound really flat and isn't bassy. I have a Audio Technica M40x plugged into a AT2020 USB+ mic and it sounds good. DON'T JUST BUY THE HEADPHONES. Buy the DAC also since most laptop or pc audio jacks aren't powerful enough to power 32 ohms headphone or 35 ohms.

- If you have a loud environment, get closed headphones like the dt 770
- If you have a quiet environment, get open headphones like the dt 990

- If you only have onboard sound, get the models with low ohms
- If you have a (not ♥♥♥♥♥♥) dedicated sound card or a DAC (or are willing to buy one), get 250 or even 650ohm headphones.

In very very very very! Simplified terms more ohms = better sound (again VERY simplified), but in all honesty if you are not into HIFI or work with audio you probably won't notice it anyway.

- For a mic, buy a modmic and just slap it onto the headset

What company to buy from is all personal preference, I like beyerdynamic other my like senneheiser or audiotechnica. Of course they all sound different, but in the end you use a simple EQ to adjust sound to your liking anyway.


But don't buy a gaming headset just because "insert influencer" said they are good (they are not)

I think it's better to buy the fifine series USB microphone. It might not look good since it's pink but it performs and sound good. The fifine USB mic is much less expensive then the modmic.
