I'm not sure they'll make another. Odyssey was a big failure. Took ages to make, then to fix, and you can see on steamchart the big drop in player after it launched. Not counting console players we lost.

Meanwhile, ships are cheap and fast to make, and seems to sell well. No need for much in the way of fixing to.

Since 2021, Frontier as a company is dropping hard. Their publishing wing collapsed, while their big franchise are underselling. Their share prices dropped by 80% since. They are likely focusing on making money instead of trying new things.

Nice, looking forward to being able to buy/sell materials at FC bartenders again!

It's also a game, one that's been going downhill for years. Part of the problem is that if you want to play with people you can't be an explorer, and it takes forever to meet up to actually play. Unless you use multicrew which isn't on every ship and requires specific modules be installed. Anyways point is there's alot of issues with this game, and while what that guy is suggesting isn't strictly the main issue he has a good point.
Next you're going to say that Star Citizen should remove ship interiors because it wastes your time to have to walk to the cockpit lmao

That isn't necessarily a bad thing, at least for a little while. The game desperately needed some new ships imo. If they make a good bit of money off the pre-built release schedule where they can get the greenlight to work on some other new stuff then it'll be worth it.

The only way I can see it going wrong is if it just turns into the star citizen model of only selling new ships for the rest of its days. A handful of new ships are great, but at some point it'll just cause another exodus.

Module storage increased from 200 → 600
Been asking for that for years, but why not 1000? Anyways I'll be glad to remove dozen of that "storage ships" with spare modules.

even if frontier is adding new ships it's still a movement greater than it was after Odessey. It means that this game will be developed more often. 4 ships in 1 year and new colonization content is a great step forward so don't be very pessimistic about ED, let's just wish that space games can have a life in 2024 and don't die like homeworld 3

the only thing I can suggest is to add more planet types you can land on and just improve space around you with phenomena like meteorites, comets and etc. But it's gonna be almost impossible to add imo because of random generation factor and server load

Edit: It's clear the vocal minority is all that's left here, as evidenced by the declining player count over the years. No they don't need to make it super casual, but it definitely does need QoL for people who don't have multiple hours a day to play and who want to play with friends.
As someone who is struggling to get back into the game after a 9 year hiatus, I wholeheartedly agree. I'm so far behind its not even funny. I ended up purchasing a couple AX prebuilds to participate in the event, but I quickly realized that they aren't that great at AX activities. AX loadouts aren't even good for PvP so I don't get why they would sell those undertuned junk heaps in the first place.

They've shown sneak peaks of what they're working on atm, system colonisation

Yeah, keep telling that to yourself while the playercount keeps dropping and no new players get in

Amen brother, these people are looking for something as quick as no man's sky in a conceptually much more serious game where they won't find it
