And i have 300 hours in the game and now maybe i can't play anymore, and this is horrible
So Horizons will have the same system requirements by the end of the year, which means at that point you (and I) may well need a faster computer EVEN IF WE CHOSE NOT TO BUY ODYSSEY.
I really hope I'm wrong and that the only reason the requirements are higher is to deal with the on-foot sections - I'm on a laptop which I can't upgrade and I can't justify buying a new computer for a game.
As noted by ObsidianAnt - the recommended specs actually went up compared to the Alpha.

The Alpha wasn't for optimization. Instead it was a benchmarking test, which revealed they undershot their original requirements targets. So they simply increased the recommended requirements.
But expecting min spec for Horizons, which is 11 years old (GTX 470), to still be applicable to odyssey is a bit silly. I don't think any other game in the last 5 years will run well on that. Heck I had a GTX 560 in 2016 and it was struggling even back then.
You said it 3 times already, but forgot to add that it's TOP hardware of it's time. 780 has basically the same performance as 1060, which is far from being 7 years old.
You're implying, that there's barely no one left today whose specs is worse than this, and everyone else should really upgrade(in a time when it's virtually impossible), but mind you this specs is for 720p/30 fps. Who the ♥♥♥♥ playing 30fps on 720p monitor in 2021??? That's unplayable for an FPS, which this update is all about.
Also, the minimum and recommended specs, as stated above, are basically the same(there is like 10% difference between 780 and 1060), which is always a sign of poor optimization.
Compared to not letting them play the game they already own and can already run? Yes, absolutely.
Thing is you're just busy trying to sell the new expansion and having zero sympathy for people who can't afford an upgrade.
I personally have a computer between Odyssey's minimum and max specs, but I would absolutely prefer to run Horizons well rather than chase after "improved" graphics at low FPS.
Cant wait for dlc, hyped.
Lol, that's backwards. It is highly unlikely that any console will be able to run Odyssey well at the current level of optimization. Indeed, the increase in requirements the day before launch indicates it will never run well on consoles.
But then again people who keep trying to sell Odyssey here engage in all kinds of mental gymnastics to justify its failed promises and shift focus elsewhere.
