There was a CG to gather parts of the Titans drive so that we could reverse engineer it and make our supercruise drives better, this would appear to be the result. It sounds like a faster mode of in-system travel, a super-supercruise I suppose :P

Nice, thanks. So can we now get our Hutton mugs in less than an hour? :SF_Freestar:

Still no reason to login anymore, as of about 2021/ early 2022. What they call "content update" is just a narrative update that usually takes place a stone-throw a way from where you start the game, and so benefits nobody else in the wider galaxy, much less Colonia. I was looking forward to on-foot but then separate engineering and grinding was required for that and so now I don't even use it for combat purposes: I am not going through the whole engineer unlocking thing again. That was a horrible experience the first two times I did it, on Xbox and PC. The game is still DX9 with DX11's blazer on, means not very good performance, or things like DLSS, FG, Ray Reconstruction and, oh yeah...RT. No atmo landings, meaning no exploring really interesting worlds full of gasses, methane lakes or the periodic bodies of water, caves and real biology. Nothing came of the teased 2020 ship interiors (was it an early April Fools delivered late February 2020?).

100%. There's a reason they're in a lot of trouble. Terrible management.

It was actually 220ish mb for me. It showed at 28gb initially, but when I downloaded it it just said 220something.

aye indeed. only 220mb it was showing 28 for me which is where the mistake came from. bit odd that. anyway. only 220 mb so pretty much a nothing update by the looks of it.

I have full G3 kit (with some mods), one engineer unlocked and upgraded four things 2 to 3.

Treasure hunting on stations can be quite fun and carriers sell on foot mats.

I guess it's easier to not check stuff out. :D

Elit dangerous. it properly will be a new skin for the suit or something like wise wheal milking. No alife Stations. nor Planets. always feeling lonely and meh in Space games. X4 isnt any different. alltought it feels a bit more alife untill the NPC speeks to you. At least there is some sort of speach in like Sound waves. In ED you only get the Text top left and thats usualy always the same too.

supercruise overcharge is competely useless in its current iteration, half the fuel usage and heat generated at least, and apply this overcharge to be used on ALL fsds, or as an experimental effect you can engineer to the drive, then it will be useful
Button_Pusher_ Apr 10, 2024 @ 10:47am
you gave us a supercruise "boost" feature, something i spoke about in Malic_VR's stream at least 2 years ago..
it's nice to see that some of you over there are listening.. somewhat..
now, for that stealth feature Malic and i talked about in detail.. i hope someone was paying attention to that discussion we had.

My link is much more recent one. It reflects more current views on the game development.

Yeah but yours is just the voice of a CM who has only been with Fdev for roughly 5 years if I am not mistaken.
Mine is from the Founder.
The Father of Fdev.
The Father of Elite.
Forgive us for actually weighing David's Words much more heavily.'

And while yes, it is understandable that not everything can be delivered on,
a major feature like Ship Interiors?
That at least deserves some level of ... proper addressing in one way or another.

Or you know ... just give us ... like ... one room XD

Ship interiors is not a major feature. It would just be a massive pile of fluff that would likely have very little gameplay value beyond client side mini-games.

Given the modular nature of Elite ships, most of the internals would end up looking the same anyway. As a result it would probably end up making the ship interiors look a bit weird. The ship interiors would likely boil down to a ramp, a corridor and a bridge, with maybe a galley, a toilet and a row of bunks.

Honestly man, given the limited dev team allocated to Elite at the moment, I'm really hoping they aren't wasting their time on this.

I want cool things to do, not fluff content to look at one or twice and then never bother with again.

No, it wouldn't be. No ship interiors or base building were even planned to be added - FDevs already said that they don't see a reason to add those to their game.

As about full atmospheric planets - it will take a lot of work on actual mechanics of adding it, plus even more work to add gameplay around it. Most probably it will be a whole separate DLC when they add full atmospheric planets, not something to be added in the Update.

Wait a moment, the debate around Ship Interiors is well known (most ppl want them btw.)
but where in Oblivion did Fdev ever say that they wouldn't do Base Building?
AFAIK, ship interiors create issues with collision models in coding. and AFAIK, not everyone wants them, just a very loud and vocal subgroup of players. I for once think, they would be completely irrelevant to the game content, so for my experience, they have the potential to hurt a lot, but no prospect to add anything meaningful, so i figure i am better off without.
