If you bought the DLC but didn't buy your participation in Alpha, then you will have to wait for the DLC to be actually released, like everybody else who bought the DLC does.
Folks- remember Frontier had metrics they use to see what people are tending to do or have trouble with. They can see things like "Oh, 85% of players die over and over when they encounter X, that needs balanced". Stuff like that.
Also, the reason they want to phase the rollout is to essentially 1) force us to test certain things before others which is likely important for technical reasons and just to be organized and 2) introduce the existing cmdr data last to separate compatibility issues from the other testing. You don't want to debug 2 issues at a time if you can limit it to 1.
Source - mediocre software developer
Mmm leftovers. Yum!
You're right, I can wait longer. :) I bought Horizons after a long hold off period and still it wasn't cheap on sale. Played it for a bit, wasn't really impressed. Then they announce it is being integrated into the main game for free and all future buyers get it included with initial purchase. Cool.
Knowing how things work with this game I will just wait to get it for free later on down the line after all the bugs and balancing etc have been implemented. My steam backlog is big enough, I can play other stuff while I wait. Plus how long have we waited for other games *cough* Star Citizen *cough*. Waiting seems to be a regular part of the games industry now it seems. Haha :D
It dosent change what he said that this job was done by groups of people paid for doing this and now it is done by people paying to test it out
You know a beta comes after alpha right? I bet ya didn't because if you did you guys wouldn't be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and moaning over what is essentially a closed beta
You wouldn't need alpha and beta if there was people paid for that like it was so well done before. But I bet ya didn't know because if you were you would stop licking Frontier *** over a **** business model that basically poison gaming industries since at least a decade.
You're not a fan supporting the game you're just cheap labor doing their test jobs for free thinking that you make a change for the best when actually you're just saving them some $$$ for their investors Group. Public alpha/beta and early acces ******** is one of the biggest joke in the gaming industries and people are so blind they don't even saw it.
So yea, like he said you fans pay to do their jobs and even funnier you are proud of it. Enjoy your free labor mate
I liked your answer: D But if anything, join the banquet :))
Some stuff 95% of the players need to fail at repeatedly for it to be glorious though :D nicely put by the way
Based on the lack of information, the updates are likely to be in normal mode.
Most likely you will go to start your Elite and before the launcher will run it will demand an update for the launcher. Then with the new launcher Odyssey will download as a game update for 1-24 hours. Click on odyssey alpha or whatever and plop. Your in! :D
