Odyssey tutorial bug

Hey. I'm a returning player (from a very long time ago, 2017 I think) and just encountered a bug during the Odyssey tutorial mission.

I installed the base game last night, I had not purchased Odyssey yet, and deleted my old commander to start fresh. That went fine, did the flight tutorial and logged off. Today, I decided to purchase Odyssey and logged in.

I load in on foot, on a planet to go get some download data from a facility which all worked really well, was enjoyable.

However once the dropship lands to extract me and I board, the pilot (Dylan I think his name is, can't recall) takes off but doesn't speak. No interaction, just takes off and flies us to base to drop off the downloaded data. I disembark at the station and find I still have the "Board the dropship" mission objective. I can run around the station, but can't really do anything. Dylan takes the ship and disembarks, leaving me stranded on the station.

Once I restarted the checkpoint, this time it goes fine. I get the full dialog from the pilot about the success of the mission etc, and everything seems to go smoothly.

Just wanted to raise this, it's a cool tutorial and reentry into the game and it's new features, but stuff like this is just going to have new players alt-f4 and not bother. I almost did.

The Ody tutorial unfortunately has a tendency to bug out sometimes.
(from what i can tell it might be a connection-related intermittent issue)

In any case, one can press ESC(escape) to open menu and skip the tutorial.
(it is a good idea to complete it if possible as the instructor does explain a few concepts)


Good on you for sticking with it btw; that attitude will see you far in elite!
