Elite Dangerous

Frontier says I need to redeem Elite: Dangerous. Won't let me play.
Hi, I recently bought Elite: Dangerous, and I tried to launch it just now, and the Frontier login gave ma a verification code. After I typed in the code, it said, "You need to redeem/purchase Elite: Dangerous before playing." I've never used Steam before, and I'm not sure how to fix this. If someone could help, I'd appreciate it.

When the launcher asks for the code, just input it then close the launcher and restart steam.
-that should give you the "log in with steam" button.

Ok, so I fixed the problem, but now I've got another. It no longer gives me that message, but when I click play, It just makes the play button go dark for a second, then it re-appears. No game launches.

Ok, this is what gets it working in most cases:

Click play nothing happens (blue > gray > blue):
Top right of launcher, click "Options > Select language... > English/System > Accept".
Restart launcher and it should work.
If you're still not able to play, you need to update MS C++ (2015 redist x86/x64) and .net.

cheers

Did you manage to get it working because i can see i wrote 2015 only:

The MS VB C++ package you need is called "2015-2019 x86/x64 redist" IIRC.

Found this link it might help if you need it.
