BUG: Multi-Crew repeatedly losing Connection
My friend and I are able to easily connect and join each other's ship, but we seem to keep losing connection whenever we move to a new zone (examples: leaving FSD, including when Interdicted).

I included a link to a screenshot I took of the message I see on disconnect below.

We both have no issues with other online games we've played, have highly capable internet stability and speed, and both play Elite with Horizons.

It seems this is a common thing according to reddit, but has anyone had any luck resolving it? Even after they sent along a ticket to the devs?

Multicrew can be flakey. Between players A and B they can have a good stable connection. Maybe A and C can also. But B and C might experience nothing but problems.

Its rather strange, since it isn't so bad with wings usually, so presume there is something wonky (or wonkier) with the MC netcode.

Only thing you can really do is raise a ticket with FD, see if they can spot something that can help. Or at least you provide them with data which may one day contribute to a fix.

It's a long standing issue the dev's can't be bothered with fixing, same with ships not respawning properly in combat zones if you have multicrew on. Only drop into multicrew when your already where you want to be though usually high waking is fine as long as you never drop out.

It seems to help if the host is the one with the less stronger internet connection.
Since my mates always got kicked out of my ship they told me they have a decent internet connection.
But when i fly with them i don't get kicked out. My internet connection is way above decent so this seems to help.
So like in this case the one with the less stronger internet connection should be the host this is at least what i've learned ...

"UPDATE" Try to not do a Team invite but Rather do Multi Crew Invite that helps i guess maybe

"Update" Cannot Leave the ship from a friend when I'm in multi crew group with him

"Update" We did it we joined a ground Conflict zone with 3 different ships. As far as we know you need to turn of the Team Beacon of all your ships and try to get into the same phase with jumping to systems together. When you all are in the same phase and you enter together into the conflict zone you can start the fight together.

Ooof. I'm sad to hear this hasn't been resolved yet. I'd gladly jump back into Elite with a few mates if crewing the same ship together was a more stable experience with more choice and options.

I'll keep an eye on this. Thanks for weighing in and highlighting some workarounds you've found can help.

Today a lot of connection are behind NAT|Strict/Symmetric.

The way Elite connects is p2p, with a signal node, so rudimentary connections can be made.
ISPs throttling p2p, or even disabling ditto, will make winging up difficult, and multicrew nigh unpossible due to the throughput needed.

this is noway internet connection issue. rather it's related to missions. if multi-crew host takes mission with killable targets, it will fail.
