Beta update Stuck on "Preparing for update"

Beta won't install as the launcher displays "Working" "Preparing for update". Any idea for a fix?

Did a reasearch and they sujested to remove page file, to no effect. Help?

Yes, try and go to settings, and uncheck Virtual Cache. Restart the launcher and then it will start downloading. After the download you can check the virtual cache again.

Looks like removing page file sort of worked, it took some time to kick in but now the launcher appears to be stuck again on "Sync files". Is it possible that it is stuck or is it just really slow? (I have very fast network connection so probably network is not the cause).

Well...from my perspective you're not missing much - my Beta is currenlty donwloading at a 1/10th of my usual Steam download rate. Will I loose progress if I kill the ED launcher and restart?

Then i would recommend that you restart your computer, that mostly does it also. If that doesnt work, keep the Virtual Cache box unchecked. Hit me up if that helps.

Yes, it worked. The update is just really slow.

Unchecking Virtual cache in the Elite Dangerous Launcher worked for me as well. Thank you for the tip.

Thanks for the fix, but to anyone else that struggles with the wording fix its:
Elite Dangerous Launcher,
Options,
Uncheck "Virtual Launcher",
Close Elite Dangerous Launcher,
Restart Elite Dangerous Launcher,
Its still pretty dam slow though :(
