anyone having crash problems

iv done everything i can to prevent the game from crashing and its become unplayable even thinking of going back to the original game but id like to stay and play here but i don't think it will be possible

I crashed once three months ago and that was it. I'm assuming your hardware just can't handle it. My PC is fairly decent and I bounce between 40 to 80 FPS on-foot, 60 to 120ish in space(this is definitely better than being on foot and I can handle 60FPS, anything lower hurts my brain lol).

I got a Ryzen 9 3950x 16 core processor set on automatic overclocking with Ryzen software, 2080TI 11GB VRam, and 64GB of RAM (work station PC first, gaming PC second) performance isn't always amazing.

Have you tried purging your graphics drivers with DDU, and reinstalling the latest ones?

Have you tried setting your graphics card to reference speeds (not factory overclocked speeds, but standard model speeds)?

Tried running the game without any overlay software (Steam/Discord/MSI afterburner/OBS/anything else that puts an overlay or screen capture layer on your screen)?

When did you last open up and clean the inside of your PC?

Have you verified files through Steam?

Have you verified files through the Elite launcher?

Got the latest drivers for your motherboard chipset? What about bios?

Have you installed the motherboard audio drivers, or are you using the default windows drivers?

Speaking of windows drivers: DON'T rely on windows update to keep your hardware drivers up to date. Check the manufacturers website instead.

yeah and more ive got the issue down to been in a fott combat mission so im just not touching them until the next hot fixes come out

Lots of us don't have crash issues. That alone says something. Some dude posted a bunch of questions, did you follow any of those steps? If not I would recommend it.

On top of his technical steps I would specifically contact Frontier Dev Techical Support so that they could give you further instructions. They might even require you to provide a Direct X Diagnosis so they can pinpoint if the issue is with you, which in this case it most likely is.

I was in a squadron with hundreds of people and none of them had crashing problems. It's worth considering that the issue lies with your PC, but make contact with the official support team double check.

I had 4 crashes the last hour. I needed 3 times to get in a station. Since the latest Update (Odyssey) it get realy worst. Each game session 3 to 5 crashes. Bevor that I had no Problems.

I had a strange problem that the game always crashed when I tried to land on a planet with barnacles in sight (when it left supercruise/entered the atmosphere)

Landing on other planets was fine as was landing on the other side of the planet. But I crashed 4 times when trying to land near the barnacle forest before I gave up.

i play ED over 400 hours. since february odyssey constantly crashes. but horizon works same time very well (no crash better performance). i guess its someting with low and high tec hardware. later i will upgrade my 1080ti and see what odyssey can do again. today its unplayable,
