Game uses p2p, so some isps may not support it.
EDIT - well, an uninstall (complete with deleting the lingering folder in Steam) and reinstall didn't fix it for me. Guess I'm back to my fall-back plan of waiting for the next update.
It's an issue that spontaneously manifested since the September Update, I figure that a November (or December) Update would similarly demanifest it. That's usually how these wonky connectivity issues have gone in my experience :P
I had the same thing happen when trying to run Elite Dangerous Horizons. What I had to do is run Elite Dangerous and wait a few seconds on main menu for the game to establish connection, after that exit game and launch Elite Dangerous Horizons. Seems a bit silly but maybe it needs to verify something from the base game?
