Skipping the skip-able flight tutorial
I'm sure very few other cmdrs have chronic restartitis like me, but does anyone else know of the flight tutorial skip for odyssey? Not the thing where you pause the game and skip during the tutorial, but, I discovered if you get killed while wanted (or just travel to a prison station maybe?) before receiving the starting sidewinder, you can freely purchase the available ships without going through the tutorial. Of course if you ever want to use the on-foot shipyard in regular stations you will have to go through the tutorial, but nobody does that anyways, right.

I've known how to play the game for years, plus there's always the the non-mandatory tutorials if you're desperate. I just thought it was a funny workaround to a non-existent "problem"

I actually find it useful occasionally... Mainly for switching between ships that I currently have docked. Feels like it saves me a few seconds instead of having to load one ship, then switch to another. Could just be a placebo effect though...

Works the other way too... If I've landed in my Cutter, and somehow forgot to buy a sidewinder to make that stroll across the landing pad shorter... Then I'll buy a small ship to load in, and then switch back to the cutter...

That trek across the landing pad is painful when you're flying a cutter.

No need for fun, because you need to get what you want through him, just like eating and drinking.

Except you don't, any prison station will sell you ships without any questions. Heck, you technically already have the starting sidewinder even without doing the tutorial - you're just not allowed to access it from normal stations initially. You can have it moved to a prison station/sold/swapped for a different ship because their consoles don't force you to do the tutorial - and then you can do whatever you want.

I can't remember if it was odyssey start or horizon start but one of them starts you off in a totally different location if you skip the flight tutorial.

I don't care. If my advice doesn't help you solve your problem, treat it like I didn't say anything.

Geez, can't make a silly little thread without people getting all weird about it. You clearly cared enough to comment multiple times, and your "advice" wasn't needed nor wanted considering there were never any problems in the first place.

It's Odyssey that started you outside the newbie zone, pretty sure that got put into Horizon 4.0 as well since that's effectively the same engine.

I haven't started fresh in a while though so I'm not entirely sure.

Geez, can't...
Roger that.
You are here to cause turmoil.
