Game isn't the same though, we got Thargoid Titans, two new thargoid hunter ships, a new ground mission, matrix sites, new captive rescues and a few more things on top.
For all the thousands of players who've already engineered all the ships they could possibly need, this wouldn't be much to look forward to.
The servers are down for seven hours because they're bringing us update 17.
I'm surprised the player count isn't zero, but I guess some people have left the launcher running.
Before you spread FUD though, it's probably worth checking facts.
What's flawed about the base gameplay? I have about 11k hours in ED and it's fine for me.
I'm not trying to argue, I'm just asking what you believe is flawed.
You can't land on earthlike worlds (yet) because you'd need the graphical complexity of Microsoft Flight Sim but visible from orbit all the way down to ground level.
Other space games teleport you in from orbit to the ground (starfield, NMS), and some have a lot of pop-in with close-range objects only - or lousy frame rates, or both.
Adding the ability to walk around a forest would not change all the existing gameplay though.
masochist much
If you dont like leave or present your complaints to the leadership personally and LISTEN to them then stay or leave Sheesh
GREAT JOB TEAM FRONTIER i hope the auxiliary programs can get up to speed to your updates as you have some new additions and modifications done.
You do realize a game engine runs BILLIONS of stars, right? i am glad the engine then doesnt have to figure out trees etc.
What exactly are you missing by not landing on earth like worlds? is this the game play you state is just so flawed? not landing on planets is all you got? Since you seem to hate the game so much, dont like the dev team, and are so wrecked over your lck of earth worlds, maybe you just need to find a new game that doesnt trigger you as much .
Well, everyone has their opinion about the flaws of the game and there are always outstanding bugs, but flawed to death is a major exaggeration.
Regarding the update *sigh*.
Its funny, because years ago i said FD should either pee or get off the pot regarding storylines. Either go full in or don't bother.
So they went full in on Thargoids, which does make sense, but i find it completely uninteresting for me, partially because of the pace, partially because i just don't like the Thargoid gameplay on offer.
Maybe next year, they will do the gameplay feature overhaul they talked about and that might be more interesting for me.
Did you survive? I panicked and quit about 20km from the surface of a low G world after stepping on a geyser. I was convinced I was going to be a small crater... Did the maths later, (and assuming I got it right) I would have landed at about 5m/s without using the jetpack to slow me down... Which seems pretty survivable... It was a really low G world or moon though, 0.04 or something...
