Tip for brain tree farming needed
Guys, how often do brain trees respawn? Seems like relog to solo/open doesn't work. Maybe there're is a proper way to farm it?

I guess its few hours, but I don't know for sure.

How to farm them properly:

Make an anaconda build extra for that. Something like that:
https://edsy.org/s/uywd5

Fly low over surface, find a large spot of brain trees.
Bomb the place with dumb missiles or alternatively, drop mines.
Hover 600m+ over the place and release your limpets.

Sit back and watch the limpets collect the mats from the ground.

Anaconda because it can carry a lot of limpets and has best jump range, allows you to reach the brain trees worlds in a few jumps.

Note: limpets may get stuck or crash into the ground when collecting. To avoid this, make sure to release them from altitude more than 600m. Better 800m.

It also works with crystal shards.

Thanks for ur reply,. I use ASP explorer, and seems like main problem is flak ammo. I have to often fly to nearest carrier to refill ammo.

I just go down in my SRV. However, since the materials buff, brain trees aren't even needed any more.

You're better off getting raws from crashed anaconda sites or mission rewards.

Brain trees are obsolete now.

Just now there are more ways to do it. No need to travel hundreds of LY to do so.

I've been playing in legacy.
I am curious how materials effected raws.
Did amount per harvest increase from the old 3?

As for the original question, they respawn whenever the server side instance ends.
To do this, everyone in the instance quits to desktop and waits to login until everyone has exited the game.
Otherwise the instance is held.
There is no respawn time, otherwise someone in one instance harvesting would despawn them for someone in another instance.

Tip: Don't use mines with the Ion-Disruptor special effect.

They respawn when you quit to desktop and load the game up again ;)

Speaking of brain trees, all that I have found, AFAIK regardless of genus produce the same things - zinc, magnesium and I think selenium. Is this true of all brain trees everywhere?

There's a variety, depends on the planet composition. I think I had one in my bookmarks where they were 100% yttrium.

No, still 3, and Legacy won't be getting any of the new changes.

The mineral content is specific to each tree.
Each tree's content is set by procedural generation at the time of the planet's first discovery.
The mineral content on a planet is effected by planet forge's geological factors.
This means that in one spot on a planet a mineral can be completely absent for many KM despite being on the planet's list of minerals.
It also means there can be concentrates where a particular mineral is overwhelming.

The same also applies to volcanism, the mineral content %'s across an area will be the same for both.

All you saw in the tree's where the drops from Polyporous Growths.
Areas where the brain trees have only Polyporous growths are absent the Tier 4 mineral for that part of the planet.
This means that in that region the volcanism will not have needle crystals.

Anenome's act the same way having only cordycep growth in areas lacking the planet's T4 mineral.
