Leveling the Empire - Stuck at Serf rank

Currently, I am leveling for the Imperial ships. However, I am stuck on the Serf rank for like 2 days now. Helping every Empire related group, even being "Allied" with some of them, I just don't get the leveling up mission. What am I doing wrong? I have made over two million credits from all these missions.. :/

Maybe you should try Oort Port? It's in CD-40 395.

Last time I was out that way, I went in a Serf, and by the time I logged out, I was a Knight! :P

Going up three ranks isn't bad for an hour and a half's work. (It was over ~2hr15m but I spent ~40 between two of the missions doing CZs with a wingman before he logged.)

Just work for one Empire group... Be patience make some money doing other missions for them.

I'm now an Earl.. I up my rep by trading and I keep an eye out for missions as I go along.. Being aligned with one of the factinos as rreally helped me, it seems more progression missions kept popping up

I made a similar topic before seeing this one and.. that doesn't work at all. I'm allied with the Empire, allied with several Empire groups, still no rank up missions.

same here for feds...since patch i have had no contact at all after about 16 missions. trying to get a SOL permit

yeah, dont do them yet seems to be the bugs in 1.3 are kind of.. harsh with everyone focusing on trying out new ships and not missions -.- or RES sites, and they didnt add power play cash rewards into the beta so that might be bugged to.

Been trying to do Powerplay in the meantime but holy damn the payouts are garbage.

"Hey how much should we charge for this ship?"

"50 million credits."

"And how much should we pay out for an hour and a half's worth of work shipping powerplay tokens or spending half a day shooting down enemy ships?"

"2000-3000 credits."

It doesn't help that a huge chunk of Empire missions are illegal ones.

I've had to turn down almost every ranking mission for them because of that.

Which means what? Just because it's the empire does not mean they accept all illegal activities. Lavigni Duval even destests it...so much that fines and boutnies are twice as punishing in her Empire space.

The empire doesn't see "slaves" , or "free thinking workers" as a problem, but that doesn't mean they share the same mentality with everything else like drugs...or that the minor factions do either.

In any case whether you think the Empire is evil or not (they're not, and the Empire ain't the one who clearly installed a murderer as President) it's rather absurd that the Imperial Navy would have it's own officers perform illegal acts in it's own space.

Not that I'm even getting any missions at all, still. Not even in Achenar.

I just took a mission for the rank of Count: ship two pods of perishables to an outpost in the system next door.

My reward? A commission in the Federal Navy and an extra six permits.

Thanks, everyone, for the comments! I've tried every one of your suggestion, but unfortunately, they all failed. Luckily, I found out why.

In the very first version of the Powerplay update, there was a bug that caused your progression to be stuck, not allowing the progression missions. I was stuck in this bug.

Now, I am happily progressing after the hotfixes! You should try it too if you couldn't find the missions!

I think that a hell of a lot of people have, over the course of time, found they were trapped at a rank of Serf despite their best efforts.
