Seriously though, the Viper is a pure combat ship and has superior hardpoint placement to the Cobra. Cobra is more of a multirole ship.
don't think I didn't see what you did there
It's the truth. If you can afford it, the vulture is superior to both in a purely combat role. If you can't afford it, it's worth saving up a few credits for. It also makes a better trade vessel than a sidewinder. Then again, a wheel-barrow makes a better trade vessel than a sidewinder.
you need to save around 7-8 million CR to get the Vulture... its useless without upgrades...and i know this because i had one... got rid of it as soon as i got enough money for my clipper.
Cobra has better armor, and the Viper's drive systems are stupidly vulnerable. I swear they're so vulnerable I think they take damage from near MISSES. Also, the Cobra has crazy FSD capacity. So you can make the long journeys between Community Goal systems in much fewer jumps.
Money can be an issue with the Vulture though; my Vulture was worth 22 million before I sold it for my Python and it was more or less an A Class Vulture.
