how do i use chaff launcher?
i mean i know i can assign them to a firegroup but is there a faster way than switching firegroups to find those while you are being shooted? XD and another weird thing. even in a firegroup where i HAVENT set the chaff launcher it still appears in my screen like its usable but i dont know How, (im playing with a joypad)

Yes, you can assign a hotkey for it in the settings/controls. You don't have to assign it to a firegroup or even have your hardpoints deployed to use it.

I have it set to NumPad Enter, and it can be used whenever needed.

Save your firegroups for other stuff, since the chaff launcher and the shield cell bank (I have that to NumPad +) can be used anytime if you have a hotkey assigned for them, no matter what your firegroup says.

another question. i dumped all my 4 gimballed weapons for their FIXED weapon counterpart and holy crap man the damage is much HIGHER. is this normal?

Yes fixed weapons do a lot more damage and they are cheaper. It's harder to hit anything with them though, so I guess that's why they do more damage. Yoo get kind of a bonus for aiming yourself, and not with the use of the targeting computers used by gimballed and turreted weapons :)

Yeah it doesnt bother me at all at aim by myself since the most dangerous ships are all HUGE in size., you must be really blind to miss one of these ships with manual aim XDD

When you are in something small and fast shooting at something big and slow, the dps bump from fixed is great...when you are in something big and slow and shooting at somethimg small and fast the turrets/gimballs are usefull
