Its sometimes quicker to sumbit (0 throttle) full power to engines > hit J and boost and supercruise out of there.
If you find you can't stay on the target or you are staying more or less, but still losing, submit rather than take damage.
There's an indicator on your hud (above and to the right of your radar) that shows your targetted destination aim for that. Don't jump until you are aligned.
Turn your ship in the direction of the blue-dot. If the dot is hollow it means your destination is behind you and you need to do a complete turn, if it's solid then it's in front.
The dot is contextual, so it'll direct you to your escape vector, the station you've targeted, the star you've locked on and once you're in a station it'll direct you to your landing space (especially useful if you're in a big ship and you get a front slot).
It's critical to know how to use it if you get your screen shot out.
All this is covered in the manual.
He's not talking about interdictions
^ This. There is no vector indicated for escaping a star, you simply fly away from it.
You will have an indicator in the little indicator mentioned here if you have something targeted or during interdictions or other things, but there is no indicator for simply flying away from a star, other than looking out the front window and making sure you're not flying smack into it... :^D
You just have to swing around until you see it in front of you, and then fly into it. I haven't noticed it on the compass or on the radar. Haven't really looked though, I just look for it out the cockpit.
Not sure if it's a bug, or something related to being near a significant body of mass /shrug. I've been getting it a lot when im leaving an asteroid belt after mining, etc.
Yes it is from trying to go into SC while near a significant mass... And yes it should appear on the navigation compass.
Correct.
