Voice Pack Official Support on Steam?

As the subject sais; I enjoy Elite Dangerous not so much because its got combat but because it's like Skyrim in space, that and I actually feel like a pilot vs feeling like I'm a ship. But I saw that voice packs were possible in this game.

The question I have is three part, one will these voice packs be officially supported; as in when you say "jump to location" the voice pack triggers the acknowledgement and then the built in voice echos that acknowledgement so will that built in one be muted if you are using a voice pack for that?

Two if these voice packs are officially supported will they then appear on steam for sale, as well as the ship vanity stuff. (Which I wish was in game but w/e)

Three if all of these things are being worked on then what is the eta?

Voice activation is done on a 3rd party program called Voice Attack and the voice packs are from HCS (prerecorded sounds) or if you want Ivona stuff (text to speech)

The game itself does NOT support voice packs at all at the moment.
There is a voice pack for voice attack, or you could get one of those ivona ones which are kinda expensive but extremely good for a text 2 speech voice.

Well right now this game rocks, I wish it released completed with voice pack and all but w/e I'm enjoying it. I hope that it doesn't begin to feel hollow like Eve does for me. And I'm trying to get my friends into it.

It is okay He is talking about the "Ivona" voices you can buy. they are professional voices for like automated answering services and stuff. They are really really well done! They run starting around $30.00 and up. There are other sites that sell voice software and sometimes you can get a deal on an Ivona voice through those sites. I personally use Emma. A female voice with a british accent.

I made this video awhile back for some gaming friends of mine showing how I use the voice attack and a custom made head tracker in the game. But you can hear the Ivona Emma voice in here when the computer responds to me. I did not use a voice pack. Just bought the voice and made up her comments back to me when I issue certain commands. Apologies ahead of time for my voice here. It was my first time capturing video using shadow play and my son was home sick from school sleeping next to me so I tried to be extra quiet.

I bought the Astra voice pack then later for a site that makes a free voice pack that works very well.. Try ripleyglactic.com for their KICS voice attack pack

Yup the Astra pack and the other free ones made for Elite are also awesome I agree. I happened to have Emma and VA for other reasons than elite, and just stuck with that or I would also be using Astra or one of the others mentioned.
