How do you find Resource Extraction Sites?

I hear that you have to just romp around looking for ringed planets. In the 2 systems I checked that had ringed planets, there were no sites. I want to blow people up ;_;

Yeah not every ring will have a RES. You have to look around a bit.

Ringed planets with Icy rings (you need to read the planet description) are most likely not to have an RES. Metallic, Rocky, or Metal Rich will likely have an RES. The closest one to the starter stations is Kremainn if that helps. Also, it helps to be in a populated system.

Another thing to note, RES will change and move over time.

What weapons do you use ?

Dual Multicannons are the choice for killing subsystems, lazers are less effectiv against the hull and systems.

I try to fight an Anacodna, his 5 gimballed weapons lock onto me and only me. Also, I can't get close to him because of his 5 gimballed weapons. So, he just runs away and wastes half my multicannon bullets. It feels like I have a bigass target on my head at all times saying "Shoot this unlucky ♥♥♥♥♥". At least, that's my experience most of the time. I'l going to go get chaff.

beta-1 tucanae is a good place - goto adams station and the resource sites are 45 Ls from there

What are you flying? If its something manouverable, and you are skilled at using all your thrusters and directions, you can stick to the back end of an Annie and take out its engines. Once that is done, its left spiralling in space, and you can finish it off... just be careful, weapons will still be powered.

A viper. My general strategy against smaller ships is to rotate around firing my pulse lasers, and when they stop moving, smash them up with multi-cannons. Against an annie, I generally stick to the back and fire a few lasers. Is there a certain way to take down ships that works better?

target the power plant, don't have to kill the hull then, oh and extraction sites are found in systems that have exrtraction named in their economy
