How often can you HyperSpace Jump??
If I can go into Hyperspace Jump FTL Mode many times = I'm buying this game as a pure simulator of Hyperspace.

If can only go into Hyperspace Jumps from star to star once in a while, or need to wait a long time before doing it again = Me not buying this game.....

Please let me know thanks......

Yes, I would be buying this game purely as a "Relaxing Space Simulator"...and i love Light speed Aspects of games.... The idea of hyperspace fascinates me alone....

also can you do this right from the start of the game? or do you have to wait before you gain this ability?

You can jump with a cool down of a few seconds, you can jump a distance that depends on your ship size and drive/fuel tank installed. You need to refuel but if you have a fuel scoop there is no need to land.
you can use a jump drive from the get go and the starter ship has a drive fitted.

down to fuel really, you can jump every 20s or so from start to star, 1 jump takes about 10s

You can do as many jumps as you want if you have enough fuel.

You can jump as you want between systems as long as you've fuel in your main fuel tank. Different Frame Shift Drive modules can be installed to improve your jump range. Refueling can be done at stations in the current system you've jump to and/or by fuel scooping from certain Classes of Stars by installing the relative module on your ship

you start with a Frame Shift Drive (hyperjump) but its jump range and fuel capacity is limited so as you progress you can buy upgrades increasing the jump range

The cooldown is negligible.

Although I never really delved into it, I THINK you can increase or decrease the jump charge time based on something. It's either a part or the amount of energy you put into systems.
Sylphend 3 ABR 2015 a las 7:09
You can start jumping to another systems since the beginning

The cooldown is usually very quick. You can upgrade your jump drive to allow longer jumps.

Then there's frameshift drive, which is also faster than light. Similarly, that one has cooldowns too but they're just a few seconds. Note you can't jump while masslocked, there's an indicator on the right for that. Just get away from big objects and you'll be able to jump again.

I am currently on an exploring trip using a fuel scoop. I haven't been anywhere near a space station for about 300 jumps....

How many light years are you from Earth Ian?
Grumtastic 3 ABR 2015 a las 7:20
There are 2 types of light speed in the game. The FTL jumps that everyone else has commented on and Super Cruise (SC). Both require fuel. The former is for jumping from system to system. The latter is cruising around the system itself. The planetary distances are measured in light seconds, so you would have to be travelling in multiples of light speed to get to them reasonably quickly. SC speeds can be affected by local gravity wells and you can be pulled out of SC by pirates (played by NPCs or players) or the local police.
You can jump in and out of SC whenever you like (but there is a small cooldown when you drop out before you can jump back in), if the SC fuel runs out, it auto refills from the main tank.
Fuelscoops do not work on all stars so beware you can get yourself stranded if you jump in and don't have enough fuel to jump back out again. (there is way more to the game than this)

Also, getting a 30t fuel tank and being able to jump 20ly with a full cargo hold is very nice.
