I found this a while ago and all credit to the guy that started it (CMDR Black-Bart) - it's worth a listen, keeps you updated with in-game news, has some very 'spacey' tunes and throws in some excellent community made tomfoolery to keep you company when travelling through the black.

Everyone should listen in to the station, the news breaks and very informative of current events ingame, and the commercials are hilarious too. new players would highly benefit from the galnet news reports

Radio Sidewinder is great. There are also other fan based programs out there worth checking out. For example, if you're more the CNN type of person wanting news updates with visuals and not just audio, there's a YouTube Galnet News station:

Nope, but Iam re-playing the old X3 Reunion at the moment, will listen to this radio, until I proceed to Elite. Fits quite well.

A community centred radio is a filler? Like EVE has EVE Radio you mean? Or World of Warcraft has it's podcasts? Or GTA has in-game changeable radio stations? Yeah, all very unsuccessful games that need fillers those... lol.
