You need to go to the bulletin board on the destination station and it will be listed at the top for you to click complete and hand over the cargo. You can also see the mission and status in the left UI panel and click on it for details in case you missed something etc.

oh, was I supposed to pick up the cargo too manually at the previous station or does it place it in my cargo bay by default?

No need to pick up manually the cargo, accept the mission, gives you the cargo , you need enough places to take it

Depends on the mission. Sometimes you need to find the cargo yourself and bring it back. Other times they give you cargo to take somewhere.

If it's the delivery type, the turn in will be on the Bulletin Board at the destination station. The same board you would have got the "quest" from.

If it was just a delivery mission (the icon is a picture of some boxes and an arrow I think), you don't need to manually pick up cargo, it will be put in your ship when you accept.

However there are also trading/supply missions which don't give you cargo - they just say some station (usually the one you're in) need X quantity of Y, and if you accept, it's up to you to figure out where you can buy that cargo (use the filtering options on the Galaxy Map to see which systems sell it), how to get there, then heading over there, spending your own money to buy it, then heading back to deliver it to the station the mission said to deliver it to.

You can grab some stuff in space, or you can stole cargo from players /npc

Or you can give your cargo if a pirate want it
And you can give your cargo to a friend too

The jettison cargo hotkey? Unbind that. So far there is pretty much never a situation you want to use that - if you need to actually drop cargo in space you can do it easily enough from the info panel on the right. That hotkey mostly just makes people lose their cargo in space when they forget what the bindings are and they press it by accident.

Some missions dont give you the cargo required, you must go and scoop it up or find a station that sells it and buy it yourself.

If the mission has an icon with an arrow pointing to the right then they give you the cargo. If it has arrows pointing both ways you need to buy it yourself.
