Limit Theory will also be a nice game.
'Struth! Freelancer was just not that good a game. I was highly disappointed in it. Start off in stock ship and get 50 pirate kills in half an hour? The hell? I felt like I was playing Galaxian.
Yep X3 is a very good game. While I do like Elite better (it hits the sweet spot for me perfectly), I loved X3 for years. The newest one, Rebirth, was broken at launch, but I've heard that it's actually shaping up to be pretty good now.
Imho Star Hype is going to be a huge disappointment. There is no way the devs can possibly live up to the ridiculous hype that Roberts continues to generate.
Eve is a simulator? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Eve is a bad game but how exactly is Eve a simulator? Click, click, click, click. Wanna fly somewhere? Click. Space combat? Click. Trading? Click. Exploring? Click.
Yeah, no. Eve is not a "simulator."
AFAIK the devs said in the past that building (and destroying) space stations wouldn't be coming.
Also, the size is just a config parameter in the procedural generator, so it's barely even worth noting, and there are other games with the tuning set higher (some times even way higher). Starbound, for example, should have over 400 quadrillion planets when released, each being similar in scope to a full Terraria map, thus having about a million planets for each of the roughly 400 billion stars ED has.
thats why they add FPS and Social Modes to the Game..
Hell, it bloody is. Just make sure to have a good computer, it's a little bit more demanding.
Not a problem, if you got the X series.
Where as Vanilla Freelancer only allowed servers up to 100 people,
There are 2 Major mods still being played today, wich allows servers up to 1000 players or more,
These mods are named either: Crossfire 2.0, or Freelancer Discovery,
Both still have at least 400 to 500 people that are always connected to any of the servers !!!
I dont call that DEAD !!!
I call that very much alive !!!!

and

of these 2 mods i think Discovery still has the largest player base !!!
