I played a bit on the BBC Master 128, but clocked most of my space hours on the Acorn Archimedes version!
Indeed, the solid polygons gave a physicality to everything that made it, for the time, feel so real. Graphics like we are getting now were like a dream back then, and the chance to replay those memories today with this game is very exciting!
Couldn't have put it better myself.
I remember looking at the screenshots of that back in the ST and Amiga mags. If I remember it was really late coming out but yes it was amazing.
That version was very very good!
I remember getting that on PC, but didn't put as much time into it as the old one. Great game too though, loved the planet landing sequences.
