Colonization contact locked out when it was available before?

Did I miss my opportunity to claim a system? Because the contact for system colonization is grayed out and has a little red icon in the top right.

Was going to wait until the weekend to try to setup one as I work my life away.. but looking right now seems I am already too late.

Figures. Anyways.. Back to the FC grind.

They are fixing an issue with it, it will be back when the issue is resolved.
If all goes well, I'm sure they are trying to fix this as soon as possible, so you might still be able to go along with your plans for the weekend.

This is a permanent mode, so you won't miss out on it.

They've temporarily disabled colonising of new systems due to problems that have been encountered during the beta, yeah. The opportunity will come back however!

Well that gives me more time to farm up a FC as I figure that will help with finding a good system to colonize massively.. I refuse to build anything but an asteroid base...

Eh, I am not too worried about it. They were very open about it being a live beta and I was just feeling the FOMO and wanted to jump in. This give me more time to plan for a better system.
