Exploration payouts???
Greetings commanders o7

I'm south from the bubble exploring.
Has the exploration payouts changed? I had my peak 3 years ago, and i remember i got 1mil+ from mapping terraformable HMC planet.
I'm using EDDiscovery (third party tool) - EDD says i only get 100-150K from mapping terraHMC planets??

Does someone have a link to some reliable exploration payouts?

Fly safe! o7

This thread is a bit older but might give some answers: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/exploration-value-formulae.232000/

If you have Odyssey you should get into exobiology/plant scanning - the payouts are great!
If you have Odyssey you should get into exobiology/plant scanning x2

100-150k is probably if someone else has already mapped it. There's another column in EDD that shows the first-discovery value but you might have to enable it.

No, if it is an earth like, ammonia or water planet, even a planet already terraformed, you are making 1M+. I came back in Dec and did not realize this, I was scanning every planet, never sure why I was getting bank for some and little for others. Now I just do those 3 and some of the heavy metal worlds if close to the ones listed above and I have made over 100M in the past week or 2 playing around 2-3 hours per day (I am at about 100M right now and I already bought a 5M+ ship and equipped it with all the best stuff available, so I would prob be closer to 200M, maybe more, I have not kept track, hell that ship may have been more than 5M, I just don't remember, it is a medium landing pad ship good for hauling and exploring it said, a couple ships above the adder, 3rd one up from it I think). If you scan 1 water, 1 earth and a couple heavy metals, you are likely over 4-5M for that data, from what I am seeing and these are NOT first scanned planets, just ones I have not mapped before. Those were probably first scanned by someone years ago. I am not even that far out of the bubble, I don't think, could be wrong about that, not quite sure what the boundaries of the bubble are.
Not sure what happens if it is one you are already mapped in the past, I am guessing I am going to start running across those soon and you either get nothing or next to nothing for it.
What I personally have been doing is taking one of 'deliver 8 units of so and so' to something 140-200 light years away, so I had to stop and refuel a couple of times before I got this new ship. Change the settings to economical routes so that you are stopping at way more systems, like 25-40 jumps. You end up running across so many. If no missions like that are available, I just pick a random system far out on the map. Sometimes you are just FSS'ing a first time system for yourself that is all rock and ice, but I go ahead and do that anyway, so that I know for next time, I can just stop, turn on FSS, see there are no good planets and move on.
Anyway, sorry for the long post, I have been enjoying it, relaxing.

P.S. I am talking about surface scanning the planets, hopefully that was what you were talking about as well, haha!
