Elite Dangerous

The Fuel Rats Are Excellent!
Last night, I flew passenger-missions between Hauser's Reach and Sirius Atmospherics in my Dolphin. I was transporting some Illegal Passengers, because they usually pay the largest number of credits. Many times, I have flown Illegal Passengers from HR to SA, and I have never had a problem. However, this time, upon returning to the HR Space Station, my ship was scanned, and I was charged a 150-credit fine for carrying IPs.

I agreed to pay the fine, and then I, in my Dolphin, was sent to a "Jail Cell" on a station that was 9 jumps away from Hauser's Reach. My Dolphin can jump 33 light-years, so this is a trip of more than 270 LY. Ordinarily, I equip my starships with a fuel-scoop and an extra fuel-tank. However, when I do the 2 short jumps between HR and SA, I replace those modules with Passengers Compartments, so that I can earn the most money.

On this occasion, because my ship did not have a fuel-scoop or an extra fuel-tank, I "ran out of gas" just 2 jumps away on my return-trip from jail to Hauser's Reach (even with Premium FSD Injections, I still did not have enough fuel). For the first time in my 7 years of playing Elite Dangerous, I needed to call the Fuel Rats.

On the dedicated "911-style" text-based chat-page of their website, Dr. Leo immediately answered my request for help. He gave me clear and thorough step-by-step instructions, with a short tutorial-video, including how to facilitate the assistance of the Fuel Rat who was dispatched to help me, Commander Aleethia. Commander Aleethia arrived at my location in less than 5 minutes, and she re-fueled my ship. There were absolutely no problems, difficulties, or delays with this rescue-operation.

Thank you very much to Dr. Leo and Commander Aleethia for their help. The Fuel Rats conduct their business with friendliness and professionalism, and they are certainly Elite Dangerous Experts. It is amazing that they perform this critically-essential service, without charging any kind of fee. o7

Sincerely,
Commander MXFIVE.

I've used their service once in my career, too, and my experience was also amazing.
100% professionalism and very quick arrival

The 'Hull Seals' is another similar service... though, since carriers were introduced, these services are perhaps not as required as they were 5-10 years ago

However, they're as vital now as ever for the commander in need :)

I concur. What makes it especially amazing for me is the fact The Fuel Rats are not employees of Frontier Developments; they are just players who want to help other players, and they do not require any kind of payment for the service that they provide.

Until I read your reply, I had never heard of The Hull Seals. I have since visited their website, and they appear to be as professional as The Fuel Rats. I wonder if the two groups are part of the same organization.
If it happens again, switch to economical route plotting. Many (most?) ships can travel more than 1000LY on eco routes.

I did not know about this feature. Thank you for the advice!
