Looking for someone that has the 5 Surveillance Equipment needed for Kit Fowler that would be willing to trade for them. I can't find any info on if you can trade data at all, but if someone knows of a good way to get the 5 Settlement Defense Plans for Hero Ferrari. I am all ears.
Yes I've tried all the things to get these, have found zero success. And due to a bug, I can't buy it from Carriers, I get the Vendor Error. So I'm basically just stuck here

You should be using Inara. I just found 2 Fleet Carriers selling Surveillance Equipment.

What you do is go to Inara, Engineers, Kit Fowler, then click on the Sur Equipment link. That opens a window describing it, and in that window is a grey button "Find Trade Offer". Click that, Inara opens a window to search nearest, with Surv Equipment already populated to search,

Or click here, it should work, just change the location to search from where you currently are.

Or just go to Inara, select Data > Components trading and use the dropdown to select what you're looking for.

I have tried to re-log and do that on multiple Carriers. I get a Vendor Error that forces me to leave the Bartender menu. It's a bug that's been in the game for a very long time at this point. I can't buy any on-foot materials unless I trade it with a regular bartender in a station. It's really frustrating

SDPs:

1) Look for missions with these as a reward (I got one for 6 just the other day)

2) Look on the ship mission boards for a 'liberate 2 bootleg liquor' mission. Some of these have a crashed skimmer with SDPs in the data panel. Grab them, relog without pickup up the mission item.


Surveillance Equipment should be in the lockers in the security level 3 part of CMD buildings.

For the skimmers, are they On-Foot missions or Horizons missions?

They're on the ship mission board, hence 'ship missions'. But you have to scan the data panels on foot. The mission items are large canisters of liquor.

Look through on-foot missions. You will find them as rewards, occasionally. I managed to unlock every on-foot engineer -including those in Colonia- without having to resort to buying anything from other commanders.
