how to find the product code?

just bought the game here on steam after not playing since the game was cancelled on console, but its asking for a product code, but i dont know where to find that.

You don't need a product code. Restarting steam should sort it for you. You might get asked for a product code in future, and restarting the launcher or steam will normally sort it.

aighty i got it but it was such a ♥♥♥♥ around, the game used to be so easy to play on console.

also rip to my old account apparently, its just gone, using the same email as when i used to play but i guess im not allowed to keep what i had

Some people do find consoles easier to deal with than PC gaming.

Product code is there: In library, right click on game then choose above properties or settings manage or something like that. There you will see CD Key. Just click on it to copy it to clipboard.

Do new accounts even get a CD key there? CD keys haven't been used for Elite on Steam since 2019...

Just restart Steam. You should see a big 'Log in with Steam' button when you open the launcher and steam is logged in correctly.
