There’s some kind of technical glitch after Trailblazer 3 patch. It manifests as certain functions not working when pressing buttons on Joy 1. I switched to Joy 2 — it worked. Then switching back to Joy 1 also worked. I’m experiencing a similar issue in FSS and on Planet Surface.
Like the personal camera suite broke with a patch a couple of months ago. It sets a default zoom of 0, where previously it was 2.3, so all pictures look distorted as if taken with a fish-eye lens, unless the player manually sets zoom to 2.3, every time.
What is your issue on planet surface? Do you mean Detailed Surface Scanner?
I'm not even 100% that is a Frontier mistake. It could be an OS issue.
Might have just been a UI bug showing the firegroup was set, when it actually wasn't in your case?
