They made a top-level presentation for the corsait i see with a dedicated page.
It seems they are trying to take care of their presentation now. =)

The more money they make from ship sales, the more they can spend on the niceties for each release.

I think they were sneaky with this one, made it look better WITH the ship kit (nose job) to push peoples to get it or buy the stellar version loll

Edit: I don't mind throwing a few bucks to the game but I'll check it out torougly before buying, I don't want to do what I did with the new python that's sleeping in my garage doing nothing

I'm going to grab the stellar anyway, at least on one of my accounts... Maybe both if I really like it.

But it seems I'm in the minority: I actually prefer the look of the default nose.

Looks can be a personal thing. One likes a brick, other people like flaps. So no, I don't it is meant to push people towards the stellar one.

Also, you can wait until the corsair gets released to the public without arx. It has been done before, and it will happen again.

Why the Stellar?

You could engineer one yourself, exactly to your liking. Is it the paintjob? Or you like collecting them?

For me, if I get the Stellar it'll be for the wing kit and ship on 1 package, bit I need to see that wing kit 1st.
There's a few reasons.

I like having the ship kits and paint jobs available (even if the latter sometimes wouldn't be my first choice, it's still better than factory drab), want to support the devs etc.

I'll buy a few for credits once I've unlocked it, and max them out for particular roles (eventually). The pre-made version I'll probably modify for combat (cheap insurance), but I may eventually make use of the instant transfer mechanic at some point as well; I've not used it with any of the previous ARX ships yet, but I like the idea that it's there. I'd prefer to have A rated core modules if I ever do...

I've even come up with a bunch of cheesy names for them already lol.

Cargo Corsair.
Combat Corsair.
Cartography Corsair.
You can probably see the theme lol...
Cold Corsair (if it makes a good silent runner, I have a sneaking suspicion it might).
Common Corsair (ok this one needs work... Common = boring... Boring = drilling... So yeah, it's the mining one...)

You CANNOT have the name "Common" associated with an Imperial ship. You'll lose all ranks!

As for the instant transfer, i have not tried it but afaik you may always deploy the ship for free however it will be the stock one you bought. So, the stock Stellar version in your case.

You will lose any changes you've made to the outfitting. A high price to pay to save on maybe 25-45 minutes and half a million credits, tops.

The ship you modify can be transfered normally, and of course it costs 0 rebuy + the insurance cost of moduels you've installed. That shouldn't add to a significant sum.

You could buy the vanilla version for ~16,000 ARX + a paintjob worth a few grand. But with an aero kit its better to buy the Stellar.
Throw in the A rated or engineered stuff and it's a good deal.

You can see mockups of the ship kit on the store page: https://www.elitedangerous.com/store/product/corsair-javelin-ship-kit

That's PRECISELY why I've not yet used it with the other ships ;)

Well that aged like vintage milk... And in what? Only 7 hours? I think I prefer the stock paint job to the "Imperial" one.
