Small Agricultural an Scientific Settlements are T2!
So, was looking at building some stuff to get more T2 points and I noticed that even small agricultural and scientific settlements consume 1 T2 point and give 1 T3 point. I am at a loss as to why anyone would bother with a small or medium of these types of settlements when going for the large will get you 2 T3 points.

On the face of it, it seems ridiculous.

Yep. Pretty much.

The small and medium are cheaper to build, but all three are quite cheap as it is.
The only reason is diversity.

I think it would make more sense to build a Large settlement and a Hub, as opposed to any combination of settlemets of different sizes.

Unless population size has an impact on settlement productivity. In that case it would be easier to get a small settlement to max productivity.
For whatever that's worth.

EDIT - I think you're mistaken. A Large settlement will give you only 1 T3 construction point.

Have they change it? I got two T3 points each from the large Military, Scientific,Extraction, and Industrial settlements I built. Admittedly I have not checked the other large settlement types.

Well, i'm not sure anymore. I've built a Large settlement and a Hub, but the game decided i've built a Large settlement and a Small settlement.

The Hub was switched into something else once it was completed. Different economy too.

Are you sure? In typical FDev style, both Settlements and Hubs are described as Settlements, it's just that the Hubs are Horizons style settlements, and the Settlements are Odyssey style settlements.

Here is my refinery hub, the description says settlement, but notice that the icon is orange:

Here is my Extraction Settlement, description is pretty much the same but the Icon is blue.

FDev's communication skills are somewhat lacking.

Edit: My Odyssey settlement pads went offline during faction war and have yet to recover. Otherwise docking access would be another clue as to whether it is a hub or an actual settlement.

Alright, so this is what i have discovered. According to my notes, the smaller settlement is indeed a settlement. It must be because the Hub requirements are different, and the commodities are needed in different (higher) amounts.

I wrote the correct requirements for delivery but at some point i must have changed my mind about what to build.
Because i placed multiple construction sites at once, to deliver to them all at the same time, i could not tell anymore that one of my settlements is not a Hub but a Settlement.
The rest is simply believing in something that isn't there.

So problem was in chair, not in the game. Damn.

Large settlements are a great way to get Tier 3 points, IF its Tier 3 points you're after. Many useful structures consume Tier 2 points, or no points at all.
