Smuggling cargo (in a Viper 3 of all things), "scan detected" Tried to drop a heatsink and engage silent running at the same time, but I'd not got used to the controls yet... Engaged silent running, and hit the boost button instead of the heatsink button, as I was passing through the mail slot... Exploded at the back of the station as I flew into it at about 410M/s without shields... Also tried my first exploration attempt in that same ship... Made sure I filled the cargo slots with hydrogen fuel canisters in case I ran out of fuel on the way, instead of taking a fuel scoop
My first Thargoid fight, spent about 45 minutes in a cold running DBS fighting one interceptor... With regular beam lasers and multi cannon. I barely took any damage... I didn't do any damage either though
Dropping mines on brain trees to farm materials... First time doing it... Used engineered mine launchers... Turns out flying 50m above the surface, dropping mines with the Ion disruptor special effect, well... Lets just say it's not a very good idea: unless you want to smear your remains across the surface of a planet.
I've probably got more... Those are just the first ones I remembered.
I'm not sure if that counts...? We've all done that. Hell... We still do. Repeatedly lol.
Yeah and limpets.
Jumping into my long-range combat ship and initiating a jump route sequence, to then start wondering why it's taking me so much longer than usual to cover that distance.
To then find that I have an E-grade FSD installed. Also explained why the heat level was higher.
It was pretty amusing that I was able to plot a valid route with a crappy E-grade to begin with, since I don't do lightweight setups.
I sometimes masslock newbies by flying really close to them while they're trying to supercruise, just to prank them.
One time, I was doing just that while flying my Federal Gunship just behind (like 20 meters behind) a guy in an Eagle. Next thing I know, the guy jettisons 2 tons of cargo in my face and boosts away.
The cargo was drugs. I figured the guy must have panicked when he saw the name Federal Gunship in the HUD.
